MTA prepared a master plan for a kitchen remodel, a remodel to the master bedroom, an addition of a meditative space, and a new office space to this Eichler. The first completed phase was the kitchen remodel – where wall and post removal opened the space into a light-filled great room. The island combines a dining table making food prep a communal experience. The table top extends to the back of the island and captures cubbies containing the couple’s two young children’s playthings. A new wall cabinet riffs on the mid-century style and provides a place for additional storage.
